If you are searching for a young adult, fantasy, dystopian, romance series I have a recommendation for you. The Red Queen is a five-book dystopian series. Fortunately, I personally found them to be pretty quick reads. In this dystopian world, there are two classes that are divided by blood. The civilians with red blood live in poverty and serve the Elites, who have silver blood. The Elites have supernatural powers. The main character, Mare Barrow, discovers that she has supernatural abilities despite her red blood, something never been heard of before. In order to hide this secret, the Elite king forces her to be engaged to one of his sons and claims that she is a lost silver blooded princess. While I found it to be predictable at times, it was overall a very entertaining and enjoyable read. I especially loved the character arcs over the course of the series. So if you are looking for something to read and are in the mood for a Hunger Games and Selection-esque series with a badass female main character, read Red Queen!
