Poem: A Tragic Romance

a tragic romance

they were fire and ice

they both loved each other

she thought she would suffice

in the next life and another

crashing down, 

came the rain of truth 

and she would drown

in the thoughts of her youth

she wasn't enough

never stood a chance 

like a diamond in the rough

a truly tragic romance

crying the tears 

of youth and happy thoughts

but now it was just fears

sitting, to see how a broken heart rots

days on end

of loneliness and pity

if only she would admit

that it was dreadful and shitty 

cry your life out

it wasn’t what it was at first glance

on your part it was love,

on his it was a tragic romance
