The True Harm of the Paparazzi

Paparazzi isn’t the biggest problem in today's society, but it's worth talking about. Paparazzi are, in my opinion, one of the worst nightmares ever for a celebrity. While paparazzi give the public an inside look into the lives of the rich and famous, it can get out of hand very quickly. Paparazzi will do nearly anything just to get a good shot of someone. They’ll even engage in car chases or other dangerous activities. We've seen many superstars have issues with the paparazzi. For example, Britney Spears is constantly stalked by paparazzi. One of the paparazzi who stalked her said, "You think I give a f--k about somebody getting up on the wrong side of the bed, and they don't want their photograph taken? I don't give a s--t." It's clear, most of the paparazzi care more about keeping people engaged than the wellbeing of the celebrity. When you have a system like this, if you don’t keep feeding the public with what they want, you’re not going to get far. Which is why paparazzi overstep boundaries. They’ve endangered fans, caused mobs, and have hit people with cars. It's a serious problem. It's not just superstars though. Sometimes, paparazzi want another voice or opinion about a topic. This leads to them targeting people who are close to the celebrity, like a family friend. They don’t want to deal with the paparazzi bombarding them with questions either. Why should they have to? All because they're begging for an insider scoop? It's ridiculous and traumatizing for those who go through it. Paparazzi need to remember people just want privacy sometimes. They need to learn how to respect boundaries, and when enough is enough.
