Movie Review: Mission Impossible

Sometimes, in between the intellectual, artsy, movies, you just want to switch your brain off and watch something that's all guns and spies and explosions and Tom Cruise. And I'm telling you, that's exactly what Mission: Impossible is.

This is one of those movies which, as I mentioned, you don't really need your brain for. However, it's just so entertaining. Every time one of those perfectly choreographed action sequences started and the iconic theme song came on, I couldn't help but smile. And, of course, it's pretty much dripping with suspense, especially the iconic heist scene. It's the definition of a badass spy movie that can only really be referred to as a guilty pleasure.

The movie hasn't aged *that* well, but I suppose that's what plays into how enjoyable it is. The plot is a little bit all over the place but as far as incomprehensible plots go it really isn't that bad. It's not confusing in a deep art-house way, it's confusing in a wait-who's-backstabbing-who-and-wait-that-guy-is-a-double-agent way. And, yeah, that can be annoying, but as I mentioned, this is a movie that's less about the plot and more about its face value of entertainment.
