Mourning April: A collection of poetry

Memories Made Of Wool

I like people who are broken.

Because once you meet them,

You'll leave with a token.

The smallest piece of glass,

Tucked away inside a stash.

Filling until full,

Memories made of wool.

Jagged edges stabbing deep,

Until my jar becomes obsolete.

I'm Sorry

I stepped on you,

And your delicate bones broke.

I felt the crisp demise,

Yet I had the gumption to lie.

I kept walking,

And you laid silent, buried,

Under the layer of dirt and anger.

But eventually, I looked back,

And you were still there,

Crumpled to a pulp.

How to disappear completely

Headphones, walking,

Disappear.

Dying adolescence,

Hidden fear.

Heavy bag,

Laptop near.

Posture sags,

Trauma’s here.

Our souls are wearing

Cobalt blue.

The sea is burning,

It's the flu.

Our world is tilting,

Covered in red.

Headphones screaming:

Chlorophyll green blended into the gravel.

My shoelaces unraveled.

I'm sorry

Until it was April

Miniature me,

With all her charm.

I wish she knew

About the yarn.

Slow adulthood,

Pulling the string.

The passing of Autumn,

A newfound Spring.

Until it was April,

There was no more.

Becoming unstable,

Just me by the shore.

Overdue

I hate winter mornings.

They always remind me of you -

Your cold glare despises,

The life I pursue.

Amidst the spring mourning,

I weep for the blue -

As you try to disguise it,

Our love: Overdue.

A messy love

Messy people, with beautiful minds.

I slowly fall in love with everything I find.

People ask me why I'm not ashamed -

Because I'm the one being blamed.

A sappy sad love, like a dying tree.

Maybe I'll wake up from this endless dream.

My lips are dry like a salty sea.

If you'll be my chapstick, we can finally be free

Idyll Tears

Recently, I've realized -

All my tears can't, won't

Compensate for what I've idealized.

They continue to fall,

But they still disappear-

And I stay so small

Waiting for a world to reappear.
